Independence Day – A Pocketful of Joy

The display at the local Winn Dixie. All proceeds from today’s sales will go to the Wounded Warrior’s Foundation. A great reason to shop here!

My patriot hubby! He is a veteran, spent over 7.5 years in the U. S. Army. We don’t always agree with one another, but we choose not to argue over those things. And I couldn’t be more proud of him! He isn’t afraid to speak his mind, particularly in regards to our country.

Dinner! Tri-color pasta salad with veggies and chicken, and Kraft zesty Italian dressing! Yum!

Dessert! A strawberry mini cupcake! I had two! He forgot the watermelon, so our boy is supposed to bring one later. Along with some ice. Our freezer is too small.

When I was a little girl, I used to call dessert, seddert! I don’t know why, but when I learned to say it correctly, my mom asked me why the change. I told her that only my dollies say that now!

So how are you spending your Independence Day? (U.S.)

A Pocketful of Joy to Fill Your Day

  1. My family went to my brother’s friend’s parent’s house for the forth. they grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, and the kids (young and old) played on the water slide, in the pond, and some even went kayaking and riding in the peddle boat. Even my twin nieces played in the small pool, so we had a good time. My parents and my daughter went back over there later to watch fireworks, I don’t care too much for fireworks, simply because I can’t see them. BTW, Happy belated Independence day.
