Will ye not now return unto me, and repent of your sins, and be converted, that I may heal you?

A Pocketful of Joy to Fill Your Day

  1. It is the eve of the Jewish New Year. Contrary to what many people think, it is not all about “happy new year” like the secular New Year- but rather a time to reflect on how we can do better next year, how we ask forgiveness for the things we may have done wrong, and then correct them. We look with hope for the coming year, and our day is filled with prayers seeking the compassion of God. This is the beginning of one of the moving prayers said
    Our Father, Our King:
    we have sinned before You.
    Our Father our King!
we have no King except You.
Our Father, our King! deal with us [kindly]
for the sake of Your Name.
    Our Father, our King!
renew for us a good year
    Our Father, our King!
annul all harsh decrees concerning us.
