Just some random thoughts and an apology for not being consistent. I have had a real hard time with being sick, and the effects of the medication to make me better. And there’s the doctor’s appointments and now at least two upcoming surgeries. I’m a physical wreck, but my spirits are still high. I love Christmas!

As for the Book of Mormon I shared, I just do that in the event anyone is interested in what I believe. If you are interested, I would appreciate if you let me know. And whether or not you believe it, it makes for good reading.

If she had lived, yesterday my mother would have been 105 years old! She’s been gone now for over 52 years. I sure miss her but, like my boys, I know there will be a joyful reunion! Yesterday was also the anniversary of my father-in-law’s death. It’s been 21 years since he passed.

There’s a lot of death and misery surrounding us, but there’s a bright future that awaits us!

Y’all know I read my scriptures, but did you know I also read my cookbooks? What are you reading and what could you recommend to me? I don’t do movies or tv, but I love a good book! Let me know in the comments!

A Pocketful of Joy to Fill Your Day

Wellness Wednesday, December 7, 2022

Wow! A lot has happened today! History reminds us of lives lost in defense of our country.

And I am trying to get back on top of my blogging. I have been quite sick, and now I have broken my back for the 5th time. The hospital doctor said there was nothing they could do for me and sent me home.

But he was wrong and I will be getting an mri and an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon in 2 weeks. I have had a lot of doctor’s appointments and will continue to until my stomach surgery, which will happen sometime early in the year.

Since I started with my update, it’s time to show what I’m eating.

I had toast with cream cheese (vegan) for breakfast. (Not pictured) Then I had a simple chickpea salad sandwich and 2 dates for lunch.

Then we went grocery shopping at Whole Foods and decided to get dinner there. (A rarity) I had vegan fried rice, a chana masala, eggplant, and 2 dolmas. I could only eat half, so I’ll have a pleasant and deliciously easy lunch tomorrow.

I have decided to make my diet more whole foods plant based, and I’ll take you along with me. I have to get a handle on my health, and for the first time, my blood sugar is out of control. This should help, and is recommend by my doctor.

I will be back Sunday if not before! What have you been eating for your wellness?

Something I’ve Been Reading

The Book of Mormon

Most of you know I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I want to share this with anyone who is interested, and if you have any questions, post them in the comments. I might not know the answer, but we can work together to find one.

I believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. I want to share my love for Them, and Their love for you.

I will be writing more about this in the future. God bless, and may you have a very happy Christmas season!
